Update: Unfortunately for UIevolution, despite its strong entry, it wasn’t able to take home the award, narrowly missing out to fellow competitor Inrix Inc, with the judges beliving its traffic aggregation software was a more useful service overall. The platform known as Inrix’s Traffic Scorecard offers a “comprehensive analysis of the state of traffic congestion across the world” at any time, letting users get a real insight into what’s going on and what would be the best route to take. Likewise developers are able to use this information in their GPS hardware in order to help people avoid big jams.

Original Story: The finalists for the years’s most prestigious telematics awards, those dished out by Telematics Update, are now being selected and one of them is UIEvolution, a company that’s received mountains of praise for its UIE CloudConnect platform and has helped develop strong inter-connectivity between different displays and platforms. It’s set to go up against stiff competition in its category of “Best Telematics Content Aggregator Award,” but it’s confident in its ability to take home the gold.
The award UIEvolution (UIE) is up for is given to the company that collates the most data in a succint mannger, making it available for other in-car developers to use. While it’s mostly known as a connected screen solutions company, with its CloudConnect platform, UIE has created not only one that pulls together a lot of information and makes it readily available for Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs to make use of, but it also offers a comprehensive in car entertainment system. All of it is also linked up via high speed wireless interenet, so as long as you’re in a well connected area, if you have CloudConnect then your vehicle is one of the most telematically advanced in the world at the moment.
